Overview: Students had the freedom to pick a medium and subject of his/her/their own choice. For example, digital art, painting, drawing, and tape art.
VECTOR PORTRAITS
6TH-8TH GRADE
Overview: Students used Google Drawing and Procreate app to create vector portraits of anime characters, famous people, and of themselves.
To get started, students used a reference picture as a guide. Students learned how to use drawing tools such as the polyline tool, the curve tool, and the brush tool to draw facial features, clothes, and accessories. Students also learned about shadow and highlight placements to give dimension to the area.

PIXEL ART
3RD, 7TH-8TH GRADE
Overview: Students used Google Spreadsheet to do video game creation scenes inspired by pixel-style art. Google Spreadsheet is designed of individual cells which allows getting the appearance of pixel art.
To get started, students learned that a pixel is a single dot of color on the screen. Students looked at video games such as Pacman, Mario Brothers, and Yoshi that were created with pixels. Afterwards, students created a game scene with a character, scene, and a background.

GEOMETRICAL ANIMAL PORTRAITS
4TH-8TH GRADE
Overview: Students used Google Drawing to create abstract geometrical animal portraits.
To get started, students used a reference picture of an animal. Afterwards, students learned how to use the polyline tool to create geometrical shapes to cover the animal. The eyes, nose, and mouth area of the animal's face were drawn in a natural-organic style to make the animal portrait look alive.
