Lesson Plan Tear Sheet

Overview: Students learned about different types of movable sculpture that are kinetic and powered by wind power. These sculptures can be made from different materials such as metal, paper, or wood. The students learned about paper sculpture artist, Felix Semper, who makes stretchable paper sculpture.

The concept of this lesson was to create a creature with exaggerated features. The students were familiar with bobble heads and how to create a pinch pot. The next step was creating the (body) with a neck to support the weight of the pinch pot. Students also had to think about depth and width when creating the pinch pot head to allow the bobble head creature to move its head.
